Donations Being Sought & Accepted for Holiday Ham Drive

HAGERSTOWN – In an effort to ensure that needy families will be able to enjoy a holiday dinner this year, the City of Hagerstown Parks & Recreation Division is teaming up with other City departments, staff, and organizations in the community to head up a Holiday Ham Drive.

Ham pledges and donations are being sought for residents with limited resources in the neighborhoods around Wheaton Park and the Bethel Gardens community.  The goal is to collect 150 hams—along with potatoes, vegetables, and desserts—to be distributed to individuals and families in need starting on Saturday, December 11.

Donors are asked to drop off their hams the week of December 6-10 at the Bethel Gardens Community Center, 356 Henry Avenue, between 10am-4pm.

Because the number of requests that can be filled will depend on the number of hams donated, the community’s generosity is incredibly important.  Pledges can be made through the City of Hagerstown Parks & Recreation office by calling 301-739-8577, ext. 170 or by emailing by December 10.

The 2021 Holiday Ham Drive is benevolently supported by the following partners who are committed to spreading joy in the community:  Amerigroup, Hagerstown Lions Club, and Martin’s Food Store #6104.
