HAGERSTOWN – On December 24th, 2020 at approximately 4:51 pm Officers with the Hagerstown Police Department were dispatched to Potomac Heights Blvd for a reported domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, officers entered the residence and initially located three children who live there. Officers next began searching the residence and located a female who was deceased from a gunshot wound. This female was later identified as Megan Goltz-Clemetson, age 39. Shortly after locating Mrs. Clemetson, her husband Raymond Clemetson arrived at HPD to turn himself in.
Detectives were called to the scene, which was processed by the Western Maryland Regional Crime Lab. The Department of Social Services for Washington County also responded and assisted detectives with the children located in the residence. Through investigation it was learned the homicide happened earlier in the day.
Hagerstown Police are doing everything possible for the children involved in this situation and have connected them to their extended families and appropriate services. No further information will be released at this time.
Raymond Clemetson, age 42, will be taken to the Washington County Detention Center and charged with the following:
1st degree murder
2nd degree murder
1st degree assault
2nd degree assault
Reckless endangerment
Gun related offense
