Does anyone really know what to expect with the Biden/Trump debate?

June 19 — A week from today, President Joe Biden and Republican nominee Donald Trump will hold a debate at 9 p.m. on CNN.

Since it was announced about a month ago, analysts have been speculating what we will see.

PA Representative Rob Kauffman predicted, “It could be either very painful, well, or very entertaining, or, maybe a little bit of each.”

Pat Ryan of NewsTalk 103.7FM said, “What would you expect besides the barbs back and forth, convicted felon over here, or incoherent, disconnected dolt over there. So what would you like to take away from the two of them if we had the perfect world?”

Kauffman said, “I would like to see President Trump step back, not interrupt so much. Let President Biden do his thing, whatever that is that evening, whether he all juiced up or, well practiced in those bizarre one liners that somebody thought was a good idea, let him do his thing, and then President Trump, he can tell the story of what America was four years ago and what America is now. I think that he needs to stick to that contrast, stay away from Joe Biden and whatever he rambles about that evening, and literally talk about the contrast of America, because it is so stark. Four years ago to today.”

Ryan suggested, “You don’t have to worry about the interruptions there, because the rules that were made and CNN bought onto the microphones will be shut off there.”

Kauffman asked, “What happened to the Lincoln Douglas debates? But, shutting off microphones? I mean, come on.”

Michele Jansen of NewsTalk 103.7FM said, “What Trump needs to do is not react to anything that Biden says about him being a convicted felon, any of that, just ignore it. I mean, first of all, you’ll drive Biden crazy if you just ignore that. And like you said, just tell the good story of how your policies impacted the United States and the world.”

Ryan predicted, “Trump’s going to be just fine. He’s a different guy. We all know he’s a different guy. Trump’s a different guy. He’s better, he’s sharper. And Biden is certainly a different guy or is he?”

Jansen added, “Let’s stop the whole low bar for Biden. We’ve seen how he can suddenly come out and speak very well for whatever reason.”
