21 February 2023- A Hagerstown man is dead after allegedly getting in a struggle with West Virginia State Police. Dequoy Edmond Exline of Hagerstown died at Berkeley Medical Center after he was allegedly found intoxicated and walking I-81 South near mile marker 18.5.
On Sunday, February 12th around 9:45pm, 911 operators dispatched West Virginia State Troopers for reports of an intoxicated man walking the highway in Berkeley County. The man, now identified as Dequoy Exline, was found but allegedly engaged in a struggle with Troopers. After a taser was deployed on Exline, he became unresponsive and was taken to Berkeley Medical Center where he was declared dead.
Exline’s body has been transported to the Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy. WV State Police are still investigating the incident.
