DEVELOPING: PSP on scene for “barricaded individual incident” in Mount Union, Huntingdon Co.

UPDATE: Pennsylvania State Police have issued the following release after the conclusion of the incident.

On 02/09/24 at approximately 10:00am, the U.S. Marshals Service attempted to serve a warrant on Stephon T. Hoover, W/N/M (white, Non-Hispanic, male), 33 YOA. Hoover was able to flee back into his residence, where he refused to exit. A perimeter was then established around the residence.

The Pennsylvania State Police Special Emergency Response Team (SERT, similar to SWAT) was activated and responded to the scene. After several hours of negotiation, Hoover exited the residence and was taken into custody without incident.

Additional charges are pending against Hoover, to be filed through MDJ 20-3-04.

09 February 2024- Pennsylvania State Police say they are currently involved in a barricaded individual incident in Mount Union Borough, Huntingdon County.

PSP say they’re currently on scene of that incident on Federal Drive in Mount Union Borough. Troopers are urging residents to refrain from being in the area until further notice to ensure public safety and facilitate ongoing law enforcement operations.

Additional updates will be provided by PSP as the situation develops.

At this current moment, PSP say that there is no threat to the greater public.
