Developing: Multiple fire crews on scene of a working fire on Brookens Road, Fayetteville

UPDATE (4:20PM): Chambersburg firefighters involved in the fire released the following statement after the fire.

Engine 1-1 and Engine 1-2 were alerted and responded to the 600 Block of Brookens Road for a reported house fire.

Units were informed en route that the resident could see fire and smoke from a home camera system and advised 4 dogs and 9 cats trapped inside.

Company 7 units arrived on the scene to find heavy smoke from the first floor of a two-story home and requested the working fire dispatch. Crews made a quick knock on the fire and requested Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter to the scene to assist with the animals.

UPDATE (3:50pm): Crews are leaving the scene. Please still avoid the area as they clean up.

24 August 2023- Crews from Fayetteville, Chambersburg, and more have been called to a “fill in the box” working fire at 696 Brookens Road, Greene Township.

Please avoid the area if possible. Watch for incoming trucks and potential for fire police.
