26 June 2023- A noise complaint during a Saturday night party in Brush Creek Township leads to aggravated assault charges and more after a Fulton County man allegedly assaults two Pennsylvania State Police Troopers. Tyler Morgan Tibbs is charged with two counts of felony aggravated assault against an officer, two counts of misdemeanor assault, two misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest, and one count of misdemeanor disorderly conduct. Tibbs failed to post bail of $100,000 and is behind bars in Bedford County on the Fulton County charges.
Around 11:20pm on June 24th, Pennsylvania State Police Troopers were dispatched to a home on Poplar Lane, Brush Creek Township for a noise complaint. When Troopers arrived they allegedly found multiple individuals outside the home and the song “Bad Boys” playing through a speaker. When asked to turn the music down by police, one of the men allegedly refused but relented after multiple requests by officers. That man was identified as Tyler Tibbs.
Troopers then stated that they were at the home for a noise complaint and requested identification from the man now known to be Tibbs but he allegedly refused. After this, police attempted to take Tibbs into custody for disorderly conduct charges. After announcing that he would be arrested, Tibbs allegedly refused Troopers’ requests and resisted, culminating in him pushing one of the Troopers off a 3 foot tall deck. According to court filings, the Trooper sustained a twisted ankle and heavy swelling to it as a result of the fall.
The other responding Trooper then was given more commands to stop but allegedly continued to shove and push Troopers around. Tibbs was then tased and subsequently taken into custody.
Tyler Tibbs is behind bars on $100,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is set for July 3rd.
