CPD Roundup: retail theft of an Escooter, porch pirates, and trespassing at Sheetz

23 August 2023- On 08/11/23 the Chambersburg Police Department was dispatched to the 200 block of Grandview Ave for a theft of a package. The victim stated he had a package stolen off his front porch between the hours of 1:45 pm and 7:00 pm this date. The package was a large box that contained a spa pump. If anyone has information regarding this incident, they are asked to contact CPD at 717-264-4131 or submit a tip through the Crimewatch website. 


Chambersburg Police Department is investigating a retail theft at Target. The theft occurred on July 26th 2023. The male pictured went into the store and stole an electric scooter. The male has tattoos on his arms and walks with a noticeable limp. The male arrived to the store in the vehicle pictured. Anyone with information is asked to contact Chambersburg Police Department or submit a tip through Crimewatch.

On 8/17/2023 at 1657 hours, Chambersburg Police responded to the 100 block of Garber St for a reported criminal mischief.  Someone reportedly keyed a red Toyota while it was parked in the area from 1200-1657 hours.  Anyone with information is asked to submit a tip on Crimewatch or contact the Chambersburg Police Department.  


Maryangela Hines has been arrested for Criminal Trespass.  Hines has been banned from Sheetz (1 Monticello Court).  Hines has been told by both employees of Sheetz as well as police that she was no longer allowed to be on Sheetz Property.  Hines has continually returned to Sheetz and caused disturbances and remained on the property.  


On 8/16/2023, CPD was dispatched to the 200 block of W Queen St for a report of criminal mischief. The victim’s garage door was damaged between 8/13/2023 and 8/16/2023. Please contact the Chambersburg Police Department or submit a CrimeWatch tip if you have any information regarding this case.


 Sometime during the overnight hours between 08/09/23 and 08/10/23 someone spray painted multiple stacks of cinder blocks and part of the building at 879 Cleveland Ave.  Anyone with information on who may be responsible is asked to contact the Chambersburg police dept. or leave a tip on Crime Watch.  


On 08/15/2023, the Chambersburg Police Department responded to the 900 block of E King St for a report of a purse that was taken out of a vehicle. Contact was made with the victim who stated a Coach purse was stolen out of her vehicle overnight.
