16 March 2023- On 3/7/2023 CPD was dispatched to the 600 block of S Main St for a reported burglary. The suspect(s) entered a vacant building and stole several items which contained engine oil and a Craftsman weedwhacker. Chambersburg PD announce the arrest of Jarrell Cherry in New York City by NYPD and the US Marshal’s Service on March 15th. Cherry was wanted for felony kidnapping, felony strangulation, felony aggravated assault with a weapon, and other charges.
News Talk 1037FM will have a full breakdown of the case as soon as Cherry is transported to Franklin County and arraigned before Magisterial District Court Judge Glenn Kenneth Manns.
On 03/10/23 the Chambersburg Police Department was dispatched to the 1600 block of Scotland Ave for criminal mischief. The caller’s vehicle was damaged sometime overnight. Someone keyed the side of the vehicle and punctured two tires. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact CPD at 717-264-4131 or submit a tip through the Crimewatch website.
On 3/10/2023 at approximately 0804 hours, CPD took a report of a stolen license plate. The victim said someone stole the license plate off of their Audi that was parked in the 400 block of S Fourth Street. On 3/15/2023, CPD received a report for a lost passport. The owner lost her passport in the first week of February either on Stouffer Avenue or at one of the stores on Wayne Avenue.
