CPD Roundup: Lottery ticket theft, mutual assistance at warehouse

22 December 2022-On 12-21-2022 CPD Units were dispatched to a possible burglary in progress. The location was a warehouse for overstocked goods. An employee heard what he thought was a loud crash near the back of the building. Officers attempted to search the building but quickly found that the building was full of pallets and goods. The warehouse was nearly impassable. During the search, an area containing collapsed materials was located. Due to an inability to safely access this area, the fire department was contacted to assist in the search. The fire department conducted a search for injured persons and the building was determined to be empty. A code inspector was called to the scene to evaluate the building. 


On 12/21/2022, charges were completed against Desirae Alexis Buttermore for (1) count Theft By Unlawful Taking (M1).  Buttermore stole over $500 worth of lottery tickets from her place of employment.
