CPD Roundup: Jeep off-roading in the wrong part of town, theft of an engine block, more

06 June 2023- On 05/09/2023, The Chambersburg Police Department responded to the 300 block of E McKinley St for an accident involving damage. At 4:53pm, a white Jeep liberty ran off the road into a front yard, causing damage to the grass and leaving marks on the pavement and sidewalk. On 05/23/2023 Chambersburg Police responded to the 600 block of E Washington St for a report of a theft.  Contact was made with the victim who reported someone stole an engine block from beside his garage at 12:45 AM.  The suspect arrived in a silver sedan and placed the engine block in the vehicle before driving away.  Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Chambersburg Police Department or submit a tip on Crimewatch.  


On 5/6/2023 at approximately 4:43 PM, CPD was dispatched to Wilson College for a theft.  Contact was made with the victim who said a designer Disney collection bag was stolen from her dorm room.  If you believe you have information that can assist the police with this incident, please contact the Borough of Chambersburg Police Department at 717-264-4131 or submit a tip on Crime Watch.


During the month of May, CPD conducted targeted traffic enforcement details on Broad St.  In total, 30 citations were issued for various traffic violations.  As a reminder, the speed limit on Broad St is 25 mph.
