28 July 2023- On 07/24/2023 at 1100 hours the Chambersburg Police Department responded to a business in the 100 block of S Main St for a report of a retail theft. The investigation revealed that a male entered the business and stole several packs of cigarettes. The male exited the business and fled on foot. The person shown in this photo may have information relevant to an ongoing police investigation. He is a person of interest, but not necessarily a suspect at this time. On 06/12/2023 at 10:45am CPD was dispatched to a hit and run on the 200 block of W Queen St. CPD was able to obtain the license plate of the 2017 gray Nissan Altima from cameras in the area of the crash. The Nissan was registered to Olguens Alezy. Alezy explained that he allowed the vehicle to stay at a family member’s residence and gave permission for that family member to drive the vehicle. Alezy was aware the family member did not have a driver’s license. This is a violation of the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code. The vehicle was subsequently used in a hit and run involving property damage to another vehicle. Alezy was cited for permitting the violation.
The Chambersburg Police Department arrested Johnson, Vernon Malik on Wednesday July 24th, 2023.
Vernon Mallk Johnson deposited a fraudulent check written out for $4900.00 into an ATM machine knowing full well the check was fraudulent and would not be honored.
The pictured mailbox was found in the area of the Nitterhouse soccer fields on W.
