14 July 2023- On 07/12/2023, the Chambersburg Police Department responded to Sheetz at 875 Norland Ave for a retail theft. Around 3pm, a male wearing a red shirt, torn jeans, an orange drawstring backpack, and a black hat walked into the store. He then took multiple items from the shelf, then left the store without paying for these items. The person shown in this photo may have information relevant to the ongoing police investigation. He is a person of interest, but not necessarily a suspect at this time. On 7/10/2023 at approximately 11:12 AM, Franklin County Probation Officers attempted to take Christopher Peterson into custody for a probation violation, but he fled on foot. Peterson was caught and taken into custody by the probation officers. Peterson was subsequently charged with one count PA Title 18 § 5104.2.
On 7/10/2023, a Chambersburg resident reported that someone had vandalized their vehicle while it was parked in the 200 block of E Catherine St. The vehicle was parked overnight between the dates of 7/9/2023-7/10/2023. The vehicle was vandalized by using a blue permanent marker which had vulgar language to include a graphic drawing next to the wording. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to submit a tip on Crimewatch or contact Chambersburg Police Department.
On 7/5/2023 at approximately 1150 hours, Chambersburg Police responded to the borough offices at 100 S Second St for a report of a fight between two males. One male left the area prior to police arrival but was found to be the main aggressor in the fight. Joshua Moore attempted to fight another borough resident while at this location. This was captured visually and audibly with the camera systems nearby. A citation was filed against Moore for disorderly conduct.
On 06/13/23 the Chambersburg Police Department was dispatched to the intersection of W Queen St and S Federal St for an auto accident. Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that James E Pritchett Jr was under the influence of alcohol. Pritchett Jr was arrested for DUI and released.
On 06/01/2023 Chambersburg Police responded 700 W Loudon St at Affordable Storage for a burglary report. Contact was made with the victim who reported that someone had cut the lock to her storage unit and stolen numerous items from her unit. The theft is believed to have occurred sometime between 05/26/2023 and 06/01/2023.
