CPD Roundup: Catalytic converter theft, stolen trailer, more

20 June 2024- On 6/11/2024 at approximately 3:45 pm a Hillman brand magnetic hide-a-key with an enclosed key was turned into Chambersburg Police Department after it was found in the 500 block of Cleveland Avenue.  The owner can retrieve their property at CPD.


On 5/24/2024 at 4:00am, a black Mercedes sedan entered the parking lot of 472 Stanley Ave and cut the catalytic converter from a tan Volkswagen Jetta. The Mercedes was last observed traveling north on N Fourth St in the area of E McKinley St. Anyone with information regarding this incident is requested to contact the Chambersburg PD or leave a tip on Crimewatch. 


On 6/5/2024 at approximately 9:30 PM an unknown suspect or suspect(s) stole a tow behind trailer from the 1000 block of Sheffler Drive. 

The trailer was properly registered and displayed PA license plate XNR0596.  The suspect vehicle was a white truck, possibly an older model Toyota Tundra.  

The vehicle shown in this photo may be relevant to an ongoing police investigation. On 5/19/2024 at approximately 8:30 pm, CPD took a report of a retail theft from Sheetz in the 800 block of Norland Avenue.  An unknown white male entered the beer cave, grabbed a case of Bud Light, and walked out without paying. 

The suspect left the area in a white sedan. The person shown in these photos may have information relevant to an ongoing police investigation.
