CHAMBERSBURG – On 1/16/2021, at approx. 1530 hrs, the Chambersburg Police Dept. responded to a residence in the 700 block of Pleasant St. in regards to a homeowner finding two grenades during a home renovation. The home owner located two grenade type items behind a wall in the residence.
The homeowner had moved the items outside prior to police arrival. CPD determine that at least one item could possibly contain live components. CPD contacted the PSP bomb unit which responded and examined both items. Both items were determine to be inert and were not live devices. PSP disposed of the items.
