09 March 2023- A Chambersburg man is looking at multiple felonies after he allegedly carries out a December 2022 hammer attack. David Figueroa is charged with two counts of felony aggravated assault and is behind held in Franklin County Corrections on $50,000 bail.
Chambersburg PD were dispatched to an apartment in the 300 block of South Main Street on December 16th, 2022 for a reported burglary. Before arrival, however, Franklin County Communications learned that the alleged burglars had left the home and that multiple victims had been struck with a hammer.
Upon arrival, police spoke with the two victims, one of which was actively bleeding from the head as EMS treated them. The less injured victim spoke to police, allegedly saying that she was inside her house with the other victim when a woman, Anastasia Stover, came to their home. It should be noted that Stover has an active arrest warrant out for her, as well. It is in relation to a separate drug case.
Stover was allowed into the home after allegedly beating on her front door and back window. While Stover, who was known to the victims, was in the house, she allegedly unlocked the back door to the apartment. David Figueroa allegedly made his way inside using the unlocked door and came into the kitchen, striking one victim on the head with a hammer multiple times. The other victim was also struck in the head.
Both victims were bleeding from lacerations from the attack. They were later transported to Chambersburg Hospital for treatment. Figueroa fled the scene shortly after the attack.
Figueroa is behind bars on $50,000 bail.
