Could Biden still be feeling the repercussions of last Thursday’s State of the Union address?

March 15 – President Joe Biden talked to the country last week in a State of the Union address that lasted about an hour.

As soon as he bid farewell, the analysis began.

A recent HarrisX/Forbes poll shows that 58% of registered voters said Biden divided the country even further during the State of the Union.

Pat Ryan of NewsTalk 103.7FM suggested, “He did himself in last Thursday.”

Attorney Clint Barkdoll said, “Every poll that’s been released since the State of the Union has made a similar finding, that voters found the speech overly political. They were not turned on by the message and it looks like it’s working against him.”

FiveThirtyEight does an aggregate of all the polling and that poll showed Biden’s approval rating has hit an all-time low.

Barkdoll said, “It was partially based on this new Harris Poll. As I recall, he was in his mid 30s now and that was done immediately in the days after the State of the Union address. I don’t know what he does to turn this around. I mean, every month, his numbers keep sinking and here we are getting into the prime part of presidential campaign season and I still don’t know what his strategy is. How does he get those numbers back up? You’re not going to be elected president with approval numbers in the mid 30s.”

Ryan asked, “Did you see the handlers of the occupant of the White House pushing the press out after I guess the president was ready to either answer some questions and then the hands went up and they showed the press the door yesterday.”

Barkdoll said, “This is so curious, because this is not the first time this happened yesterday. There have been several incidents over the last month or so where at the end of an event, Biden will either say, now I’m going to get in trouble if I start answering questions. That’s one comment he’ll make. Or yesterday’s comment was he looks to the handlers and says, can I answer any questions? Then they quickly give him the hook and get him out of there, which just confirms this ongoing suspicion, look, whatever you want to call it, all that bubbles around him. He’s in bubble wrap. They don’t want him in these situations because they know he will be compromised and I think yesterday it was on display again.”
