23 September 2022- A Hagerstown man in detention in Franklin County is looking at new charges after he was found with contraband drugs in jail. David Dewitt Green is charged with felony possession of a controlled substance as an inmate and misdemeanor contraband. He was given another $25,000 bail, which he failed to post.

Around 4:30pm on September 22, officers were dispatched to the Franklin County Jail for reports of an inmate in possession of drugs. When they arrived, the jail captain told Troopers that during a shower search around 12:50am two strips of paper containing suboxone were found in Green’s breast pocket. Suboxone, a treatment for opioid addiction, is a film usually used with other drugs.

Green is back in Franklin County Jail after failing to post bail of $25,000. His preliminary hearing is set for October 4.
