Conner announces candidacy for Franklin County Coroner

04 January 2023- On Wednesday, January 4, 2023, Jordan Conner announced his candidacy for the Republican nominator for the office of Franklin County Coroner. Jordan currently serves as a Deputy Coroner with the Franklin County Coroner’s Office. A position he has held for 10 years, first as a volunteer and as part-time staff. He also serves as the District Director for Pennsylvania State Representative Rob Kauffman in Chambersburg, and a former paramedic with Medic 2, Waynesboro Hospital.

Mr. Conner is seeking the office following the retirements of Coroner, Jeffrey R. Conner, and Chief Deputy Coroner, Paul Ted Reed, upon the completion of the current term in 2023. They have led the office for the past 24 years along with former Coroner, Kenneth L Peiffer Jr.

Jordan is a State Certified Death Investigator and National Certified by the American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigators. He also has attended hundreds of hours of training across a broad range of crime scene investigation including training with the Pennsylvania State Police and with the St. Louis School of Medicine.

He is committed to keeping the Office at the technology forefront. Jordan will continue to push for the highest level of training among staff and local law enforcement to better serve our communities. Also, Mr. Conner will finish the process to bring the Coroner’s Office into national accreditation.

The Pennsylvania Primary Election will take place on Tuesday, May 16th.
