Cleveland man found sleeping in vehicle on I-70 in Fulton County, arrested on multiple OH warrants

17 August 2023- Attempts to conceal his identity were found to be ineffective as a Cleveland, Ohio man is behind bars today after he’s found to have multiple warrants out of Ohio. Anthony Terrance Springfield is charged with misdemeanor false identification to law enforcement officials, driving without a license, driving on a suspended license, and driving without insurance. Springfield is also wanted out of Ohio on multiple extraditable warrants. He’s behind bars in Bedford County on agreement from Fulton County on $200,000 bail.

Just before 2am on August 17th, Pennsylvania State Police from McConnellsburg were on regular patrol on I-70 when they spotted a vehicle parked on the side of the roadway. Upon further investigation, police found the driver to be asleep at the wheel. Waking the driver up, police talked to him but he allegedly refused to give his driver’s license or date of birth. Eventually being told his name was Anthony Terrance, police learned that the man had a dead battery and ran out of gas.

After talking with police, the driver gave a different police of “Willie D. Mitchell” and a DOB. An inquiry of the first name given and the second name given both failed in NCIC databases. Police continued inquiries, eventually finding a man that matched with the driver by the name of Anthony T Springfield. Springfield was wanted on multiple warrants out of Ohio and was subsequently detained. An inquiry of Springfield’s name and DOB in Cuyahoga County, Ohio databases finds that Springfield is wanted for failure to register. His name, however, was not found in Ohio Sex Offender databases.

Anthony Springfield is behind bars on $200,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is set for August 21st.
