Chambersburg woman charged with aggravated assault against her mother

17 July 2023- A Chambersburg woman is facing multiple charges after allegedly punching and assaulting her mother. Caitlin Rose Kitt is behind bars on $50,000 bail after being charged with felony aggravated assault with attempts to cause SBI, misdemeanor simple assault, and summary harassment.

Around 5:15pm on July 15th, Pennsylvania State Police were called to Chambersburg Hospital for a reported inactive assault. When police arrived, they spoke with the victim who allegedly told police that her daughter, Caitlin Kitt grabbed her by the arm and she fell to the ground. When the mother attempted to get up Caitlin allegedly grabbed her by the hair, which caused her to fall again. Kitt also allegedly punched her mother in the head and face multiple times before the assault ended.

Police spoke with the ER nurse who was working with the victim, with them allegedly learning that the victim sustained a hip fracture during the assault.

Caitlin Kitt is behind bars on $50,000 bail. Her preliminary hearing is set for July 25th.
