Chambersburg teen says he’s the devil, threatens to kill family members

23 January 2024- A Chambersburg teen is behind bars today after what appears to be a mental episode involving threats of immediate bodily harm to his family members. Brandon Hared Ramos-Jimenez is charged with misdemeanor assault and misdemeanor terroristic threats and is currently behind bars on $75,000 bail.

Chambersburg PD officers were initially dispatched just before 12:45am on January 23rd to a home on Scotland Avenue for a reported domestic involving a knife. When they arrived, police spoke to the defendant’s father who said that his son, Brandon Ramos, was inside the home and threatening to kill his younger brother with a knife. While outside the residence, CPD say they could hear screaming and yelling.

Entering the home, CPD officers allegedly found Brandon Ramos in the living room, screaming that “he was the devil and Brandon was counting numbers randomly out loud.” While observing Brandon, police say they could see blood on his face, which was later determined to be his own and caused by self inflicted injuries.

Ramos displayed a pocket knife that was held up his younger brother’s stomach, stating that he was going to kill him but CPD officers were able to take Ramos-Jimenez into custody seemingly without any serious injuries to anyone else.

Brandon Ramos-Jimenez is behind bars on $75,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is set for January 30th.
