28 June 2023- The Chambersburg Area School District is hosting a County-wide safety training today, June 28, 2023. This training will be from 9:00 AM until approximately 3:00 PM. Multiple emergency response organizations will be in attendance from throughout the County.
The public will notice an increased presence of police, fire, and EMS in the areas of Ben Chambers Elementary School, the Chambersburg Area Middle School, South, and the Chambersburg Area Senior High School. This is a training exercise, and the public is not at risk. If you have any concerns, please contact the Chambersburg Police Department at 717-264-4131 or submit a tip on Crimewatch.
Additionally, the Carlisle Army Barracks will be conducting their annual full-scale exercise from 8am to 4:30pm. The exercises will include loud simulated explosions and responses from state and local authorities including federal ones.
