Chambersburg PD Roundup: Burglary leads to citation for public drunkenness, more

22 September 2023- On 09/20/2023 CPD officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of S. Fifth Street for a possible attempted burglary which had just taken place. Officers located a male, Robert A.K. Bowie in the area and found that he matched the description of the suspected burglar. Bowie was found to be highly intoxicated and after speaking with him Officers realized he had attempted to go into the house thinking it was his. Bowie was issued a citation for public intoxication and transported back to his residence. 

Shakira Staten is wanted for Escape after she cut off her electronic monitoring bracelet facilitating the escape.  Anyone with information on Staten’s location is asked to contact the Chambersburg Police Dept. or leave a tip on Crime Watch.  

On 9/10/2023, Chambersburg Police responded to Aldi’s on Gateway Ave for a reported retail theft.  A male wearing a dark colored jacket with a white stripe and dark pants walked out of the store without paying for his items.   The persons shown in this photo may have information relevant to an ongoing police investigation. He/she is a person of interest, but not necessarily a suspect at this time. On 9/5/2023, Chambersburg Police responded to the 100 block of E Queen St for a vehicle accident.  Mahria Remmel was found to be the operator of one of the vehicles.  Remmel’s operating privilege was DUI suspended.  Remmel was found to have multiple violations of driving while her operating privilege was suspended.  Remmel was charged for her actions.
