Chambersburg man denied bail, allegedly repeatedly raped 11 year old family member

21 December 2023- Denied bail by MDJ Eyer, a Chambersburg man is facing numerous felony charges following multiple alleged assaults in the borough. Alexander Morales-Gomez is charged with two counts of felony rape of a child, two counts of felony IDSI with a child, felony unlawful contact with a minor, felony child pornography possession, three felony counts of IDSI person less than 13, and felony corruption of minors. MDJ Eyer specifies in his filing that “no amount of money or conditions can keep the public safe”.

Chambersburg PD officers were called to a home on E Washington Street on December 20th for a sexual assault after the fact. When police arrived they spoke to the victim’s parents along with another person for translation. In preliminary interviews, police say that they learned an 11 year old victim was raped by a family member named Alexander Morales-Gomez.

During initial interviews with the victim, police allegedly learned that it started about a month ago, with the most recent incident happening only two days ago. Occurring around five times, Morales-Gomez allegedly told the victim that he would flee to Alabama if she told anyone about the incidents.

Morales-Gomez was detained after police found him at an apartment on Kennedy Street. Again utilizing another person for translation, Morales-Gomez agreed to speak to CPD after transportation to the station.

Officers say that Morales-Gomez waived his Miranda Warnings and spoke with them. During the interview, he allegedly admitted to having sexual intercourse with the victim multiple times, reportedly describing it in detail. Later in the interview, Morales-Gomez allegedly admitted to receiving nude pictures of the victim as well as sending them to her.

Alexander Morales-Gomez is behind bars on bail denied. His preliminary hearing is set for January 2nd, 2024.
