Chambersburg man charged with April assault with a doorstop that sent victim to the Trauma Center

06 June 2024- A Chambersburg man is awaiting his next court hearing following an alleged assault that sent the victim to both Chambersburg Hospital and York Trauma. Vincente Earle Everett has been charged with felony aggravated assault with extreme indifference, felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and misdemeanor assault. Everett is free on an unsecured bail of $25,000.

Chambersburg PD were called to a home on N Second Street on April 20th for a “threats” call allegedly involving someone making threats over a camera phone. Officers arrived and spoke to the victims, who allegedly told them that Vincente Everett had been threatening two women to not report an assault against a family member earlier in the day.

Officers say that around 11am that morning, one of the witnesses had been awoken by fighting between Everett and his partner, with all parties in their shared apartment. This is when Everett allegedly assaulted the victim with a 2ft heavy metal doorstop, with the witness reportedly forcing her way into the room and finding Everett over top of the victim.

Officers say that due to facial wounds to the victim, she was quickly transported to Chambersburg Hospital in a private car but eventually transported to York Hospital Trauma Center due to the extensiveness of the injuries. CPD were able to speak to York Hospital to find out the condition of the victim. They say staff told them the victim had a fractured right outer orbital, which the victim said was caused by strikes with a closed fist. She also allegedly had an injury to an elbow caused by the 2ft doorstop.

An interview conducted with the victim allegedly saw her report to police she had been struck with a metal rod (likely the doorstop) on her elbow and punched in the face hard enough to lose consciousness. When she came to, the victim reportedly said she began to throw up blood and more.

Vincente Everett is awaiting his next court hearing, scheduled for June 18th at Central Court with MDJ Manns.
