Chambersburg PD officers were dispatched just before 1pm on July 27th, 2022 to a home on S Main Street for a dispute involving a firearm. When officers arrived, they began speaking to the victim of the incident.

Security footage through borough cameras were obtained by officers, with them reportedly clearly showing Cureton carrying the black suitcase into the breezeway that it was found in. At this time, Cureton was also wearing a black mask, again corroborating the victim.
