22 August 2023- The Borough of Chambersburg would like to invite you to nominate an individual or organization to receive the “Chambersburg Mike Waters Citizen of the Year” Award for the year 2023. This award, which is awarded on an annual basis, will go to the person or organization that the Mike Waters Committee feels best exemplifies the type of service that Mike provided to the community during his lifetime. The criteria for consideration for this award are as follows:
- The service that the individual or organization provides must be voluntary, and not the result of holding a paid position;
- The individual or organization does not have to be a resident of the Borough of Chambersburg, but their service needs to have benefited the Borough in some significant way;
- The service that was rendered must have been accomplished in the last twelve (12) months or so, or it may also be for a lifetime of service.
There is no limit to the number of nominations that an individual or an organization can make, so please feel free to make as many copies of the attached nomination form as needed. If additional space is needed to describe a person’s or organization’s accomplishments, please feel free to add additional pages.
Nominations may be sent by mail or email to Julie Redding, Superintendent of Recreation, Borough of Chambersburg Recreation Department, 235 South Third Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201 or jredding@chambersburgpa.gov. In all cases, the person making the nomination should explain why they feel their nominee deserves this award. Please submit nominations no later than Tuesday, September 5, 2023 so that the award can be announced at the Town Council meeting on Monday, September 25, 2023.
If you have any questions, please contact Julie Redding, Recreation Director, at 717-251-2470 or jredding@chambersburgpa.gov.
