Chambersburg is turning off water for some homes, businesses on Tuesday morning

26 February 2024- Some residents and businesses in Chambersburg’s south side will experience water outages on Tuesday morning as borough crews fix a series of valves in the area.

Chambersburg Borough Manager Jeffrey Stonehill announced on X, formerly Twitter, that the Water Department will be turning off the pipes on Progress Road in the vicinity of Rachel Drive, Green Meadow Lane, Hamilton Road, Eisenhower Drive, and Lincoln Road for about three hours on Tuesday morning to fix a series of valves.

As is required, once the water is restored, certain customers will need to boil their water for up to 48 hours or until the Borough’s lab can verify to DEP that the water is safe. Those who will be impacted will receive a notice on their doors today, February 26th.

Anyone with questions on this work should contact the borough at 717-261-6580. The Borough thanks everyone in advance for their cooperation.
