11 September 2023- After nearly two weeks of issues the Chambersburg Area School District seems to finally be publicly moving in the right direction. CASD announced to students, faculty, parents, and social media that students will be able to utilize the thousands of dollars worth of electronics provided by the borough.
This is the first time since a confirmed ransomware attack hit the district less than a week into student’s return this fall. Other local school districts in Pennsylvania and Maryland have been struggling with a spat of cyber crime against them since schools came back into session at the end of August and beginning of September. A full release from the district about bringing electronics back into the classroom is below.
The recovery and restoration of our technology resources is moving forward and for safety and security reasons, all student passwords have been reset.
Students are instructed to bring their district-issued Chromebook or iPad to school, Tuesday, September 12th. Teachers will help students login with their new district-issued passwords.
Please ensure that devices are fully charged.
