22 December 2022- The power struggle continues in Harrisburg as Democrats and Republicans gear up for tough fights in multiple districts outside Pittsburgh. After the passing of Representative Tony DeLuca in October, the election of Austin Davis to Lieutenant Governor, and Summer Lee to the US House of Representatives, special elections were scheduled for all three open seats. Davis and Lee had simultaneously run for their promotions as well as their State Rep seats.
Earlier this month, Republicans had the hope of winning the 32nd District, previously held by DeLuca. Much of those hopes rested on former representative and candidate for Lieutenant Governor Carrie DelRosso. DelRosso, however, dashed those as she decided to focus on family and not run for the redistricted seat.
Much of current Republican hopes in these Deep Blue seats now rest with groups of Republicans they hope will give them a chance at the speakership gavel. One of those nominated by Republicans is Don Nevills, a business owner and Navy Vet in the Pittsburgh area. Nevills received a large endorsement from the Gun Owners of America, Pennsylvania Chapter. Their endorsement is below.
