Brown appointed to Academy

ABBOTTSTOWN – Congressman John Joyce, M.D. (PA-13) has announced that Connor Brown, of Adams County, has received an appointment to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy for the class of 2025.

Connor resides in Hanover, PA and attends Littlestown Senior High School.

“It was my privilege to nominate Connor Brown of Adams County to attend the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and I am thrilled that he has received an appointment to join the Class of 2025. Already, Connor has demonstrated a strong desire to serve our nation,” Joyce said. “The service academy appointment process is highly selective and competitive. Connor’s appointment is a testament to his hard work and years of preparation. Congratulations to Connor and his family on this achievement, and I wish him every continued success.”

All prospective students wishing to attend a service academy must by nominated by a Member of Congress or another U.S. official and then are rigorously evaluated by the service academies, which determine appointments. All appointments for the class of 2025 will be announced on a rolling basis throughout the spring.

In the fall, Congressman Joyce nominated 28 students from Pennsylvania’s 13th Congressional district to attend the U.S. Service Academies.
