BREAKING: Hagerstown PD announce arrest in relation to Feb 5th murder

22 February 2023- Hagerstown PD announce that after 17 days, they have arrested a man for the February 5th murder of Anthony Leon Latimer. Malik Clarence Woodley, 25 of Baltimore, is charged with 1st degree murder as well as numerous other charges. Woodley was arrested on February 21st in Baltimore in conjunction with the Maryland State Police’s apprehension unit.

According to police, Woodley and Latimer knew each other.

Police responded to the 400 block of N Locust Street around 4:24pm on 02/05 for reports of a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival, officers found the car and discovered a recently deceased man with apparent gunshot wounds.

Initially believing it was an isolated incident, that was confirmed when Woodley was found to know the victim.

Woodley is charged with 1st and 2nd degree murder, 1st and 2nd degree assault, reckless endangerment, firearm use in a violent crime, possession of a handgun in a vehicle, possession of a loaded handgun in a vehicle, illegal possession of a handgun on person, as well as illegal handgun possession while loaded.

Woodley is behind bars in Washington County on denied bond.
