BREAKING: CPD charge 15 year old with three felonies for nighttime attack with cinderblocks

08 November 2022- A juvenile is behind bars with others still at large in relation to a group beatdown of another person with cinderblocks in Chambersburg. Nyshawn Spriggs-Spoonhour is charged with felony 1 aggravated assault, felony 2 aggravated assault, and felony riot- intent to commit felony. Spriggs-Spoonhour is behind held on $100,000 bail.

On November 7th around 7:25pm, Franklin County Dispatch received multiple calls about an assault that was taking place in the rear of a home on Lincoln Way West in the borough of Chambersburg. While en route, police were told there were multiple people involved and they had assaulted the victim with cinderblocks. When police arrived, three of the people turned and ran, with one person stopping and obeying police commands. That person was taken into custody and borough security camera footage was taken in.

The footage reviewed by police showed the person in custody, ID’ed as Nyshawn Spriggs-Spoonhour, along with four other people attacking the vicitm. Spriggs-Spoonhour is seen on the camera wearing similar clothing to what he was arrested in. The assault started with them hitting the victim with sticks, before Spriggs-Spoonhour allegedly walked away and picked up a cinderblock. It was at this point that all the alleged assailants got cinderblocks and began attacking the victim, with at least one blow landing on the victim’s head.

The victim was transported to the hospital for his serious injuries where he received ongoing treatment as of last report.

Nyshawn Spriggs-Spoonhour is behind bars after failing to post bail of $100,000. His preliminary hearing is set for November 15th.
