Attempted homicide charges filed against Huntingdon Co. man following property dispute

12 February 2024- The Pennsylvania State Police have announced charges of attempted homicide against a 62 year old man in Clay Township, Huntingdon County.

Troopers were dispatched to the scene of what they called “an attempted homicide incident” on February 10th. During the investigation, it was determined that neighbors initially engaged in a verbal argument involving a property dispute. The suspect, now identified as John Edward Stout, 62, reportedly shot numerous times at the victim. One of those shots hit the victim in the abdomen.

Stout was transported following PSP taking him into custody. He was arraigned by MDJ Rufus Brenneman and denied bail. Stout has since been remanded to Huntingdon County Jail.

The victim was transported to UPMC Altoona Hospital and is stable condition.
