CHAMBERSBURG – On June 5, 2021, the Chambersburg Police were called to the Chambersburg Aquatic Center regarding a disturbance and an off-duty Chambersburg Police Officer who had been physically assaulted.

The off-duty officer was attending the Aquatic Center with his family when a juvenile male became unruly with the pool staff to the point where the pool staff’s safety was in jeopardy. The officer announced himself as an off-duty police officer multiple times and intervened in the situation. During the intervention, a bystander physically assaulted the off-duty police officer by punching him on his head three separate times. Multiple witnesses heard the off-duty officer announce he was a police officer and observed the bystander punching the officer. The Chambersburg Police Department Criminal Investigation Division initiated an investigation in order to identify the suspect who assaulted the off-duty officer. On July 27, 2021, the suspect was identified as Davon Jameir Walker, of Gwynn Oak, Maryland. An arrest warrant was immediately obtained for Walker charging him with two counts of Aggravated Assault of a Police Officer. In cooperation with the Baltimore County Police Department, Davon Walker was arrested in Baltimore County on August 15, 2021. Walker is being extradited back to Pennsylvania to answer for his charges.
