Apparently illegal immigrants are now called “newcomers”

March 1 – The Biden administration has brought a new word into the parlance of our time – newcomers.

The immigrants illegally coming across the southern border are now being labeled newcomers.

When you consider that today will be the services for Laken Riley, a Georgia nursing student who was murdered by an illegal immigrant last week, creating the term newcomer seems beyond tacky.

Attorney Clint Barkdoll predicted, “It’s not going to fly, but they probably tried to employ a wordsmith. I think of Frank Luntz when he came up with the term death tax instead of a state tax. I mean, there are ways that these things can be very effective. The public is not going to buy the term newcomer in place of an illegal alien or an illegal immigrant.”

Pat Ryan of NewsTalk 103.7FM suggested, “The public that will buy that and the public that will promote that are the same people that have the Biden/Harris signs or the We Live Here, We Welcome You.”

Michele Jansen of NewsTalk 103.7FM added, “Be kind. As if most of us aren’t.”

Ryan said, “I don’t need a sign like that. The sign and the hashtags, that’s where their commitment stops and the rest of us have to pay for their commitment.”

Barkdoll said, “I hope we don’t start seeing that term in everyday reporting and parlance.”

In addition to Riley’s death, there was also a 2-year-old who was killed in Maryland last week that involved an illegal immigrant.

Barkdoll said, “The public just isn’t going to stand for this. Everyone recognizes there’s a problem, but it’s just baffling that nothing is being done about this.”

Jansen said, “They can’t keep papering this over with just changes of the language. By changing the wording and trying to pretend what is happening is not happening and putting that spin on it, it’s shameful. It’s just repulsive that oh, the Republicans are seizing, their pouncing on this no. They’re talking about the reality that people are becoming unsafe, because we’re allowing too many unvetted people to come and roam around freely in our country as they move from sanctuary city to sanctuary county. People are going to realize that’s attracting dangerous people to my neighborhood.”

Ryan pointed out, “And you’re paying for it, too. Not only are you paying in taxes, then you’ve got your gas and you’ve got your groceries and you’ve got the shrinkflation. Then you’ve got to pay for the illegal aliens’ healthcare and their food and their upkeep and their whole housing and their transportation. All of this nightmare that’s being put on your backs right now. When will you have had enough?”

A Gallup poll this week showed that immigration is the number one issue on the minds of Americans today.

Barkdoll said, “The State of Union is less than a week away. It’s next Thursday night at nine. I think in light of the Gallup poll, in light of these recent high profile crimes that we’re discussing, I think he’s going to have to do something, whether he does it before the State of the Union or at the State of the Union. I still could write this script next Thursday, he could say I was just at the border, and here’s what we’re seeing and what we’re going to do and then he’ll beat up Congress for not passing that legislation and here’s the executive order. If he does not do that on or before next Thursday night at the State of the Union, I wonder if the whole campaign just could be sunk over this singular issue.”

Ryan added, “Here’s another thing that it’s getting lost in the sauce. He’s pushing I want Donald Trump to join me or I’ll join Donald Trump and we’ll put forward this legislation but Donald Trump’s got to stop telling his supporters to support this legislation. This is the same legislation this oatmeal head had welcoming in 5,000 people per day. It’s not about shutting down the border. It’s like okay, when we hit 5,000, then we’re going to stop what’s going on here for the day. Then also neutering the future presidents on what they’re doing on the southern border.”

Barkdoll confirmed, “With this legislation, if that maximum number was reached every day, we still would be well over a million illegal immigrants a year. That’s a lot less than it is now. But as everybody would say, that’s still too many. Why is it 5,000 a day? I mean, why not just make it zero? But that’s the number that came out of that bipartisan negotiated deal from the Senate that is not going anywhere in the House. It’s just going to stay stalled.”

Jansen said, “It was unserious.”
