A meeting between the leaders of China and Russia should be a real concern

March 17 – The Chinese President Xi Jinping is heading to Russia to meet with Vladimir Putin next week and while some US leaders don’t seem all that worried, other people are saying this is a big deal.

It’s the lead story on all news outlets.

Slovakia and Poland have decided to send MiG fighter jets to Ukraine and they are specifically citing this China/Russia apparent alliance as the reason for increasing the military force.

Could other countries send fighter jets as well?

Attorney Clint Barkdoll said, “This seems to be now moving very quickly. I don’t think anyone was expecting the Chinese president and Putin to now be getting together to apparently plot some things on the future of their countries.”

Pat Ryan of NewsTalk 103.7FM said, “And this is the adults in the room. Really? This is where we are? The weakness of Afghanistan, the incompetence of this administration. Nobody, not one soul talking about taking the temperature down. It’s got to be tanks, not talks, and here we are. The end result? Your daughters and your sons off the war because these monsters in Washington, everybody’s making bank. The money laundering that’s going through Ukraine and Russia, it’s disturbing.”

Michele Jansen of NewsTalk 103.7FM pointed out, “Do you know who is talking about it? Ron DeSantis. Donald Trump and some of the other potential presidential candidates. They are talking about trying to find peace instead of move towards war and they’re being criticized for it.”

Barkdoll noted, “DeSantis is getting a lot of criticism, including yesterday’s Wall Street Journal. Their editorial board said that DeSantis is too dovish when it comes to Ukraine. They want more military action. I don’t think that’s where the majority of America is. I think the majority of America would like to see this settled.”

Polls are showing that America is tired of the Ukraine war.

Barkdoll wondered, “How much money and how many resources do we pump into this before we say enough is enough?”

Ryan said, “If the polls do say this, then is the media so well-connected to the war hawks in Washington or is it that the media can’t wait to cover heads being blown off and seeing more destruction? I’m stuck here. I can’t understand why you wouldn’t want to have some conversations about this. I’m so sick and tired of seeing all the money and all the resources going there. At this point, it’s my money and yet we’re not taking care of our own stuff here in the states.”

Jansen said, “What scares me is you try to talk, have a sane conversation about this, you’re just a white supremacist. You just want what Russia has. You want an authoritarian government that’s going to force women into the kitchen and promote only Christianity. What? This is insane, but this is how they deflect and make people not talk about stuff. It’s such an absurd argument, but it actually plays with some people.”

Recently, it has started to look like Russia has gotten the upper hand in Ukraine.

Barkdoll said, “I do wonder, might public opinion change again on this because Slovakia and Poland are saying it’s now or never. They are very fearful that China and Russia are getting together to just try to keep overtaking more land in that part of the world. Might that be an overreaction? Might they have some intelligence? It’s hard to say, but you’re going to see a lot of discussion on this over the next week in light of this summit between Russia and China.”
