A bunch of governors are headed to DC to talk to the president about the border to address something that HE COULD HAVE DONE ALL ALONG

February 23 – A number of governors are going to Washington, DC, today to talk with President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris about the border crisis.

Reporting has shown that more than seven million illegal immigrants have entered the country in the last few years.

Biden has talked about making an executive order to tighten asylum status and secure the border.

Attorney Clint Barkdoll said, “To me, it’s interesting because we’ve said that for years and Biden would say he couldn’t do this by executive order. Well now, if he does do it, isn’t he admitting that he could have done it the whole time?”

Pat Ryan of NewsTalk 103.7FM asked, “I wonder will the press or will people, will an intellectually honest Democrat go, huh, he could have done this all along? Now we’re facing these messes all over the country because he could have done this all along. But he didn’t do it all along and he lied to our faces and the press carried this out here. I wonder if we have such a short term memory that we won’t realize that he could have done this all along. Will the intellectually honest Democrat remember that? Doubtful. But can we push that so that you understand you were lied to right in front of your face by the talking heads and the fake news, that this could have been solved by this guy all along? Is that enough for you? Maybe. Maybe not.”

Barkdoll agreed, “It has to be part of the discussion. And look, I say better late than never, but part of what you said has to be part of the discussion. Everyone agrees something needs to be done. If he does an executive order to tighten that border up and lock it down, great, but part of the discussion has to be what you said, it’s too late. Yes, it’s good we’re doing it now. Why didn’t he do it three years ago?”

The National Governor’s Conference today will include both Republican and Democrat governors.

Barkdoll said, “I still wonder if he is going to use these meetings? We know this is going to be a big part of the agenda today. We’re less than two weeks out from the State of the Union. I can envision him rolling out this executive order next week or right before the State of the Union and then you can almost write this script. At the State of the Union he’s going to beat up Congress, saying you failed to act. There was this bipartisan bill from the Senate to address border security and you failed to act, so I now had to step in and do it and he’ll try to spin that as a political advantage.”

“Liar,” Ryan insisted.

Keep in mind, we are also on the verge of another government shutdown.

Barkdoll said, “I realize in some circles, some will say, well good, let’s let it shut down. But again, the point is, here you’re on a two week recess with all these other issues to address and it really looks like because they kept doing those continuing resolutions. Remember the band aids that kept extending the budget, well that’s coming up to expire again and the Republican margin in the House has become even thinner with that Santos seat flipping and it does not look like there’s a plan right now to get something done to keep the government open. So there’s a very real chance you could see a government shutdown in the next. I believe it’s set to happen in about five or six weeks.”
