HAGERSTOWN – Today, 16 November 2020 at about 12:20pm, detectives of the Hagerstown Police Department made a second arrest in the murder of Daynard Johnson. Brock Jerome SMITH, age 31 of Hagerstown, was arrested on an active warrant for the murder.
Smith was stopped in a vehicle in Greencastle, PA and was taken in to custody without incident. HPD would like to thank Greencastle PD for their assistance in this matter. Smith is currently being held at the Franklin Co PA jail and is awaiting extradition.
This is still an ongoing homicide investigation and the Hagerstown Police Department expects more arrests to be made. Smith is charged with the following:
1st and 2nd Degree Murder
Conspiracy to Commit 2nd Degree Murder
Firearms related charges
Numerous other charges in relation to the commission of murder
