21-year-old charged in overdose death

September 2 — Angel Rodriguez-Leon from Carlisle has been arrested in connection with the accidental death of a Shippensburg University student from December 2020.

Leon allegedly sold fentanyl to the 21-year-old victim, who thought he was getting Percocet pills, but instead received pressed fentanyl. The student lived at 2 Morningstar Lane, Shippensburg, where PSP responded to an accidental drug overdose on December 19, 2020.

Witnesses at the scene verified that the victim wanted to buy Percocet and the fentanyl pills were made to like like 30 mg Percocet pills.

Leon was found through multiple social media searches to have sold the fentanyl to the victim. He was arrested and taken into custody on August 28, arraigned and posted $100,000 bail for his release.

The preliminary hearing is set for September 13 in Camp Hill.
