11 December 2023- A 19 year old Chambersburg man is charged following a November fight that callers initially thought included up to 40 juveniles in it. Luis Ramirez Morales is charged with felony riot, misdemeanor assault, and misdemeanor disorderly conduct. Morales remains behind bars on $30,000 bail.
Chambersburg PD units were dispatched to a possible fight involving 35-40 juveniles in the area of Tolbert Avenue and S Fifth Street around 2:55pm on November 13th. When they arrived, they say found a group of people walking west on Tolbert from S Fourth Street towards Cleveland Avenue. One of the people walking allegedly admitted to being in a large fight earlier.
The next day, CPD officers were able to access borough security camera footage of the incident through the CASD PD force. In the fight, police say the numbers were closer to 10-15 people while a large group of people watched and yelled. One of the people positively confirmed in the fight, CPD say, was Luis Ramirez Morales.
Security footage reportedly shows Ramirez Morales punch a juvenile boy in the head/face multiple times. The juvenile’s parents would later tell CPD that their son had sustained 3 broken or chipped teeth and other injuries to his head as a result of the incident.
Luis Ramirez Morales remains behind bars on $30,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is set for December 12th.
