May 9 — Law enforcement from the Washington County Sheriff’s office has charged a 17-year-old Hagerstown boy with homicide after stabbing another 17-year-old male Sunday morning.

The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. May 8 in Brownstone Place in the Westfields subdivision of Hagerstown where a birthday party was allegedly being held.

Names of the juveniles are not being released. The suspect has been charged with first- and second-degree murder as well as two counts of first- and second-degree assault and two counts of reckless endangerment.

The suspect is being held without bail and is considered a danger to society. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 19.

A second stabbing victim was treated and released from Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown and is believed to be around the same age as the suspect and the youth who was killed.
