17 year old arraigned on six felonies following 2023 armed robbery in Chambersburg

01 March 2024- The third person allegedly involved in a January 6th, 2023 robbery in Chambersburg has been arraigned and police say it’s a now-17 year old boy. Jan Pierre Manuel Rosario-Garcia was 16 at the time of the alleged incident that sees him charged with three felony counts of robbery, three felony counts of conspiracy to commit robbery, misdemeanor possession of an instrument of a crime with intent, misdemeanor assault, and misdemeanor theft. Rosario-Garcia remains behind bars in Franklin County on $100,000 bail.

The incident in question is a January 6th, 2023 robbery of a home in the 200 block of E King Street in the borough that saw around $2,350 dollars and two cell phones stolen. During the incident, CPD say that one of the victims was struck in the side of the head by a board. Other victims were reportedly threatened with a knife and wooden sticks.

Prior to Rosario-Garcia’s arrest, Chambersburg PD have arrested Xavier Ortiz-Reyes and Ismael Caraballo-Lopez. As of today, Ortiz-Reyes is free as he moves through the legal process. His next court date is set for April 18th. Caraballo-Lopez remains incarcerated in Franklin County Jail after failing to post bail. His next court date is set for April 19th.

At the time of the alleged incident, Jan Pierre Manuel Rosario-Garcia was 16 years old. Today, he remains underage at the time of his arraignment. He will not turn 18 until March 25th. However, it appears he is still being treated as an adult in current legal proceedings.

Jan Pierre Rosario-Garcia is behind bars on $100,000 bail.
